According to the guideline a donor may be a friend - with a clear and documented interest in the borrower. What does that mean?

I just had one recently, and while it was approved, the borrower and her friend both wrote a page length letter detailing their friendship. We also provided available photos/posts available on social media to prove the friendship. It is very difficult, and if there is another way to provide a gift, I would suggest that.
